SUNDRE – Volunteers who are actively involved in lending a hand with a local non-profit group are invited to attend an event in their honour at no cost.

The function, which will be held on Friday, April 19 at the Sundre Arts Centre from 7-8:30 p.m. and feature a performance by singer and entertainer Ben Crane, is being held to recognize and celebrate the contributions of the community’s volunteers in conjunction with National Volunteer Week, which this year is being observed April 14-20.

The 2024 campaign’s theme is Every Moment Matters, and is said to be intended to highlight the importance of every volunteer and each contribution they make at a moment when their support is needed more than ever.

“The sharing of time, skills, empathy, and creativity is vital to the inclusivity, strength, and well-being of our communities,” reads part of the official campaign website.

Although there is no cost of admission to get a ticket, the number of seats is limited and anyone who is inclined to attend is asked to register in advance either by visiting www.mygnp.org and clicking on the “Events” tab or calling the GNP office at 403-638-1011, which is open Tuesday to Thursday.
